As the holiday season approaches, Portsmouth Hospitals Charity (PHC) is delighted to announce a series of festive activities aimed at bringing joy to patients and staff at Queen Alexandra Hospital (QA).
This year’s Christmas campaign again centres around the Patient Present Appeal, which raises funds to ensure every patient who is in hospital on Christmas Day receives a gift. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we hope to bring comfort and festive cheer to those who can’t be home for the holidays.
In addition, we’re inviting the community to support the Paediatrics Amazon Wishlist, which features carefully selected gifts for our youngest patients. By purchasing an item, you can help make a child’s hospital stay a little brighter this Christmas.
Festivities will continue throughout December at QA Hospital, where local choirs will perform live, filling the hospital with the sound of seasonal music and lifting spirits for patients, visitors, and staff alike, whilst also raising money for the Charity’s Working Together fund.
"We're incredibly proud of the way our community comes together during the festive season," said Sally Hillyear, Fundraising & Marketing Manager at PHC. "Every donation, every gift, and every carol sung makes a real difference to patients and the dedicated staff caring for them over Christmas."
