Could you be our next Charity Champion?

**Currently only available for staff and volunteers from Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust**

A Charity Champion is a member of staff who wants to do their bit to help raise awareness for Portsmouth Hospitals Charity.

However, we know you're incredibly busy, so this has been designed to be something that takes up minimal time in your already hectic schedule, but can still make a massive difference to the way we raise funds for the Trust.

Tasks could include:

  • Helping to promote the charity in work areas e.g. putting up posters
  • Selling raffle tickets
  • Encouraging colleagues to get involved with charity events e.g. Walk for Wards
  • Hosting fundraising events e.g. a cake sale
  • Putting forward requests for new projects to fund holders that we may be able to fund
  • Being the point of contact for patients wanting to give back in your area
  • Interacting with the charity on social media
  • Completing short surveys to help shape the future of fundraising

What we will offer in return:

  • Charity Champions information pack
  • Induction or 1-2-1 for new recruits
  • Goodie bag including bespoke Charity Champion badge
  • Invitation to our annual get together
  • Our full support via email or phone (Monday to Friday, 8am - 4pm)
  • Monthly newsletter
  • An opportunity to win a Charity Champion award

Zoe Parton, Play Specialist in the Children's Emergency Department, signed up to become a Charity Champion. She says:

“I signed up to become a charity champion as I have been a supporter of the charity for many years now and I’ve seen first-hand how fundraising for our department has made a difference to patients and staff. I’d encourage every department to have a charity champion and see how charitable funds can enhance the experience in your work area."

If you would like to sign up today, please fill out the application form below. Once you have filled this out, one of the team will be in touch to start your induction. We look forward to welcoming you to the team.

If you don't work at the Trust but are interested in finding out more when we launch our external Charity Champions, please email us on fundraising@porthosp.nhs.uk
